Kerry, thanks for the very articulate and well thought out post. It should be posted on every aspiring trader who's new to the level II game.

What people like him fail to realize is that the typical level II screen, while reveals more trading activities information than a regular level 1 quote, fares miserably against those who have level 3 (mostly mms), not to mention those who have ready access to the books of all the ECNs. Moreover, the typical level II screen doesn't capture SelectNet activities, and it's limited to show only the display (vs the Reserve) size of the sophisticated ECNs.

I still have a long position in SKYM, but I have taken profit on most that it really doesn't bother me much as to how it will trade on Monday. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to sell if it gaps up, though.

Kimberly

Finally, a psychiatrist that makes some sense:

By the way, Skymall will probably gap up on Monday. These deals have a tendency to run very hard for three days in a row before they tank. The sellers want to get out of all their stock at a good price, and most of the real suckers will bite on day 2 or day 3 of the runup. The boneheads that bought at the high on Friday will buy more on Monday when it goes above their original entry price, the sellers should hold the low so it won't go down. Look for a high at around 10:30-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, day 3 of the runup.

This can be arranged. What's it worth to ya?:"But deep inside, I'm hoping SKYM tanks on Monday morning just so I can see this guy come up with some off the wall excuse as to why he was wrong. After Monday,
I don't care which way the stock goes, but for Monday, I'd like to see this guy removing his size 12 feet from his mouth.
