Dale,

I whole heartedly agree with you. After having my head handed to me recently, I have succomb to playing the game on the side where the dollars are flowing. No more fighting the tape. I've even gotten into internet issues. Although I probably wouldn't go long a POS like SRCM even though you know they are going to do all they can to get it above 20. I've simply lost too much money fighting the trends. Unless there is something fundamentally wrong (i.e. new floorless- ENML), shorting overvalued stocks is a death wish in this market. Some of the big run ups are worth a short as well, but probably for a day. And I'm not around to babysit those positions so I won't risk it. My current shorts are ZONA,AND,VTCH,MYSW.

Good luck.

x

I agree with your assessment as I mentoined in my previous response.
A nice quote from the street.com today:

As 1998 comes to a close, the environment is "scary" and "baffling," the fund manager concedes. "My disciplines and John Kenneth Galbraith tell me sell but my instincts tell me not to -- and maybe that's just an instinct for self-preservation," he says. "It takes one immense act of courage to sell your stocks and raise cash despite the fact it is glaringly obvious the market is overvalued."

Johnson does believe this will all end badly but could not say when and admits he's unlikely to avoid the downdraft. "I'm no different than any other sucker," he says. "You won't see the signs until it's over and there's nothing but debris on the deck. It's not encouraging, but I'm afraid that's the truth. Enjoy the euphoria while it lasts."

BTW, I am not trying to recommend stocks/money manegement to any one. Just making my views public like any other SI member.
