The very essence of a prediction is the existential affirmation of being it represents by its leap into the abyss of the unknown. It is logically impossible to subject a prediction to retroactive metamorphosis, and to give even nominal assent to such a folly would be to invite ontological anarchy into the forest of symbols which constitutes this thread.

I don't want to have my head in a hole in the ground on this issue and be unaware, but with direct sales of computers taking an ever increasing role, it is logical that large distributors' profits would be affected. All evidence points to a blowout quarter for box makers and especially for cpq. What exactly are you seeing here that makes you feel less optimistic? Thanks in advance. Ira
