<WAKE UP!!! THE INTERNET IS NOT BROADCAST TECHNOLOGY!!!> To be exact, "Internet" with a capital "I" is an inter-connected internets. The Internet Protocol (IP) does have broadcast support based on certain IP address types. On LAN networks, IP broadcast mode is used commonly. On WAN networks, such as the Internet, IP broadcast is not popular as it can use up way too much bandwidth, and very likely will cripple the Internet based on today's technology.
