Quick question?

I've been looking at laptops and some come with DVD drives. What are they and what advantages come with paying the extra cost. Appreciate any help, and thanks, PW.

Thanks John, but it needs to be a lap top so I can go on vacation.

I was thinking of doing what you suggest, but want to be able to leave town on occasions.

Don't need dvd. Isn't that for digital video conferencing?

John, thanks for the dual monitor tip.
You just saved me some money. One question
though, I have one open slot on my PC.
It's a 17 pin. Do I need another card
to plug in another monitor or can I just use
an adopter on the 17 pin slot I have open?
Thank you, Much.
