Once we are past the small cap in and out phase, I plan to watch the new AMEX Spiders more closely. There are now sector spiders which cover various parts of the S&P 500 just like the SPY and MDY cover their indexes. The Technology sector in particular will make a good short in a down market - it's more than 50% MSFT, DELL, CSCO, LU, etc.

There are nine new Spiders with symbols beginning XL and then a random third letter. I can dig up the list if you like.

My microcap holdings are either companies I know from the past or in the case of ERGO, I learned about when their latest bad news hit.

As for the funds, my only holdings over $10K are BRKB (a fund in itself more or less) and WCOM. Have to spread the rest of my limited wealth around to cover all the angles I like to play.
