El and rudeog: And I should have mentioned that anyone in the Royal Air Force was also a "Brylcreem boy". It was a mildly derogatory term used by the Army and the Navy to imply that the RAF was a bunch of sissies or poseurs.

Hi Lynn: It was Bucky Beaver - I read it in my history book after the chapters on George Washington, Brylcreem and Burma Shave.

Looks liked were heading toward Compaq Unchanged!
