RE: Microsoft Options

I'm still in the Jan 135's. I don't like being in options so close to expiration, would have rolled up into the February 145's already but don't want to take capital gains on my 135's until after the first. That's why it's been particularly painful to sit here and watch the premium erode a bit on light volume when I'm dying to sell them! But I'm already writing a big enough check to Uncle Sam.

I've been watching Microsoft price action carefully some time now, and there's been a pattern of a 5-6 point jump after drifting down for a couple of days. Since the options are in the money they're
going to trade basically at parity, so I'm going to hang on and sell them on the spike up.

Might do a little roll up to the Feb 150's just to have a little toe in the water for earnings, and to hear if they announce a split. If they do announce a split, I will double my number of contracts.

Planning my strategy to buy puts on some stocks for what I think is going to be our bi-annual Nasdaq "tech-wreck" in February. Any suggestions for good short candidates?
