Question regarding US taxes.
Could someone tell me what is considered the date of sale of shares, that is , is it the settlement date or the actual fill date?
I am trying to figure out if people are still selling stock for tax purposes. Obviously, it too late to do this if American tax laws recognize the date of settlement.

Here in Canada -- it is the date of settlement.
