I haven't seen anyone go quite so crazy as to bring glassware--yet--but I definitely agree that Reidel is a very good crystal for wine. There is a difference.

Morning Averill, We have been using Riedel for about 3 years now...What a differance it makes in the enjoyment of the differant wines!!!!!

I have one each of 6 differing styles of the hand blown and then 8 to 10 of 8 differing styles of the next level down...we regularly will serve the same wine in 2 differant glasses side by side at a dinner party to compare the differing taste that evolve depending on the shape of the stemware...

Just fantastic how the shapes bring out and enhance the flavors and aromas....

Can't really justify the expence of the hand blown, but we also will take our glass for the evening if we know in advance what wine we will be drinking that evening...little carrying box and all...

That's the one problem with Riedel or any thin stemed glassware, very prone to stem breakage...especially during washing and Drying!!!!Don't hold by it's stem, or you'll likely only be holding the stem...with the bowl headed to the floor...thankfully I have not broken any for months now...

Enjoy....
