yea, dividends...reinvestment of dividends on RVT and GASFX bought the dip without too much pain. The Russell is so undervalued (or the big guys are so overvalued) that microsoft and GE will buy you about 10,000 other stocks represented by the Russell 2000. REITs, utilities and microcap value is all selling at 1974 valuations. Hard to imagine this kind of valuation disparity going on much longer.
There's a well-developed derivatives market for the S&P. I kinda think with the growth of the internet that a derivatives market for the Russell 2000 will rise up out of the ashes. After all, most people work for a Russell 2000 company, it's that beaten-down stock that's going into their 401K. So a bet on the Russell may be timely.
