The startups that were mentioned in those posts deal with very high-performance switch-routers that are typically deployed by Service Providers for the Internet. This space is currently pretty much owned by CSCO's high-end 12000 line. Based on the products' information from these startups (Nexabit, Juniper, NetCore, Torrent, Avici, Pluris. and some more) it is possible that CSCO can get into the same type of intense competition in this area similar to GBit. A number of large ISPs are already testing these products from startups. FORE is not in this sector of the market and therefore will not be impacted by these above named startups. Hope this helps.
