jach,

Pardon my ignorance, but both CSCO and FORE's official literature identify that each company has products for the Enterprise, Service Provider, and LAN/WAN markets. I still have trouble believing that a company which provides a significant challenge to CSCO would not also compete with FORE. Which market is it that FORE provides products to, in your opinion, which is immune from the threat of these startups?

Bob

jach,

Now I go to the CSCO thread, and find a post cited by you there:

Message 6144759

Which seems to indicate that FORE does compete with CSCO in the ISP market - so I'm more confused than ever!

Now, mind you, I am long FORE and have sold my CSCO, thinking that FORE is the better value at the moment. But it is always important to be aware of the competition, so I am still trying to sort out your argument that FORE is not affected by the startups in the ISP equipment sector, whereas you believe they pose a significant risk to CSCO. I'd like to believe that's true, but so far I have only your statement that FORE "is in a different sector".
