i'll take your word for it that the system is ok and the users were likely not sufficiently trained.

as i said, i do own the stock, and if you and other users are satisfied with it, great.

all i was doing was articulating my indirect experience with the system.

happy new year to us all.

regards

shubh

I. It's wonderful when the following two conditions
come true in the same domain:

(a) product developer acknowledges that there are
few excellent programmers
(b) product unfolds its true potential only to expreienced
programmers.

II. Millions of opinions *CAN* be wrong. History is *FULL*
of examples. Majority may rule yet may not be right.

Regards
Dinesh

Raptor,

My experience with the R/3 product since its unveiling has more than its fair share of custom coding problems but those are always related to the heavy hitting applications like SD, MM, or PP just to name a few. These kind of problems in the HR area are few and far between. May be they are for PSFT as well and we are just hearing about a 1 in 100 occurrence. You would know better than I.

I know exactly what you are talking about though. Give me any business application and I will write you an SQL query that can bring your system to its knees. Its got nothing to do with how well your application may be constructed.

… but I believe SAP still does not have a FULLY functional Cdn HR, Benefits and Payroll product.
As of release R/3 4.0B SAP supplies equivalent HR functionality across the board for all major (and many smaller) sized countries. (both public and private sector). -J

Hi Raptor,
Thanks for an excellent post. Would you do the honors and set up a new thread for 1999?
