You say you were in civil rights movement back in the 60's were you wearing a sheet? I did NOT say all change comes from liberals. You are getting as good as twisting words around as some others here. I offered a GENERAL definition of the words liberal v conservative that's all. You know as well as I we can sit here all day and point to what we wish to point to. Is Jackson now a conservative and Buckley a liberal for their opposing drug views as an example. I have many aspects of my being conservative but I guess guys like you take the side you want to see and fix the label on that viewpoint.I guess everything is relative to a point on a continuum but I have heard the religious right state nothing is relative as it all boils down to the absolutism of their religious beliefs. Incidentally I came to my opinion of all religion being bs a long time ago when as a child I saw the church try to throw us out because we didn't give enough and their refusal to bury my grandfather. We all left then and I take offense at your supposed maturation that you made this discovery a long time ago. So what you are older now and approaching death and like WC Fields are looking for a loophole and trying to get religion to save your ass, that's maturity? No that's hypocrisy unless you've "seen" the light or got the message I guess

From the Webster Handy College Dictionary:

CONSERVATIVE adj. 1. opposed to change 2. moderate; not extreme 3. protecting from loss, waste or injury

(note that "opposed to change" is the primary definition)

LIBERAL adj. 1. favoring progress and reform in social institutions, and the fullest practicable liberty of individual action 2. of a certain political party 3. tolerant 4. not strict 5. bountiful; generous

Seems like Webster's definition of liberal v conservative are right in line with Ms Jones and others of the liberal persuasion. He was a little more genorous to the liberal wasn't he. The thing I can't really figure out is Christ was a gentle, forgiving, passionate, omniscient, omnipedent, caring, just, unselfish man that martyred himself supposedly died for us. How the hell come his followers are so UNLIKE him so ANTI-CHRIST as Mr Vaughn would put. I havn't seen one ounce of Christly compassion out of any of these vindictive hypocrites, nothing but venom and let's crucify some one. Kind of makes a believer out of one doesn't it?
