Hi Jerry!
A few ideas...
1. ask the brokerage firm for a valueless security form..its a sheet of papers declaring that there is no market for the stock and thus it is valueless based on a call to three broker dealers.
2. ask the firm to buy the position from you for one dollar. I forget the name of the form...i think its Disposition of Valueless security. The firm or the clearing firm will buy the whole position for one buck..not per share...but the whole position..this gives you a sale price..
3. ask your accountant what other options you have available to you.
4. If the firm is real nice, maybe they will buy it from you for the dollar to clean out your position...or cross it to a freind.
