Hi Steve, what the heck are you doing working the thread while sitting on the beach:) You must have a most patient wifey. Gotta a quick question for ya tho...with listed stocks, what indications can you provide before the stock opens for trading...either pre bell or during the first 10-15 min when the specialist is matching buyers and sellers. I look at real time quotes and they don't change most of the time until the stock actually starts trading. Can you get better info electronically or can you call the specialist rep'ng the stock.
Thanks...after answer you can go back to the beach...lol

Hi Steve, Mutual Fund question....

Thank you very much for your work on this thread, it is mucho appreciated.

Do you have any knowledge of how the mutual funds behave at the beginning of the year. Specifically:
------------------------
Would they wait to load up on AOL until the beginning of the year because they have to wait until after it is actually in the index, otherwise they would be investing in a stock that is not really in the S&P and this could be a potential liability issue for them?

How do they load up? All at once? Once a day each week? Other?
-----------------------
Again, thanx for all your great comments and insight.

Jon :)

Hi Steve, while you were gone I spoke with Bernie (the Big Guy) a couple of times and I have to say that he is a super nice person!! EVERYONE I have spoken with there has been most patient and informative.

As you know I am a little hard of hearing <ng> and I guess the word has been passed around because once they hear my southern accent they immediately speak up and slow down. <vbg> (BTW, I have purchased a set of headphones with a mike for my phone so maybe it will help.)

I just wanted to tell you and the great crew at Yamner Happy New Year and how much I appreciate the gentle handling and patience they have shown a newby to phone orders.

Your firms concern and courtesy is really a little overwhelming and speaks volumes about Yamner & Co.
