I spent the night on Colorado Blvd one year in order to see the Parade. And even though we had beautiful weather during the day, we froze during the night. Probably a 40 degree temperature differential. Seemed like the cold air just poured down from the snow up on Mt Wilson.

You have grandstand tickets, I presume? If not, make sure you bring along plenty of layers of clothes and some lawn chairs for your night as a street person.

The Rose Parade is spiffy. When I lived in L.A. we had a buddy that has an office right on Colorado Blvd. He invites about 20 people (mostly kids with parents attached) every year, second floor, treats and comfy chairs. Even has his own parking lot. And a bathroom even! Top shelf. The kids really like it.
