Short Interest as of Dec 15, 1998 ==> 2,304,207 ( up by +10%)

Amzaing that ONSL went up from $20 to $108 during that time, I thought a lot of people would have been forced to cover, but then I guess a lot more shorted too.

Dec. 15,1998 2,304,207
Nov. 13,1998 2,093,697
Oct. 15,1998 2,213,531

In any case they are our best friends, they'll buy back some day.

Same here. Backing up the truck at 35. Just curious Paul, why didn't you wait until Monday to defer your gains another year. Need to offset some losses?

I am worried that this may be too soon to buy. The support level is RIGHT HERE the stock's at $40.12 the low today was $40.06. The 180 day rolling average support line at just below $40, maybe $39.62 maybe $39.93. The 1 year line is there too.

Today's VOLUME is a little heavier than I'd like to see as we trend down, especially on a "slow day" like new year's eve.

If this drops below this level, it should drop like a rock, I'd guess in the order of 25% or 40% lower. On the other hand, today might be the bottom, if we stay above $39.75 +/-

FWIW, ONSL should be allowing me an opportunity to buy in on Monday. I am hoping for a nice gap down -- a big one -- and then I buy. That said, it'll probably gap up on news and never look back. Forcing me to either miss the run, or buy into it with all the current shorts. Oh well. Serves me right for being too greedy!
