Jim, I hear your concerns. They are mine as well. If we do well in 99 and beyond and are unable to keep the content what we all would like it to be, perhaps we can take it private. For now, I would like to think that we can keep the thread focused and on track with each person doing his/her part to keep it that way and to fight those that wish to only serve themselves. I have been asked by quite a few to start this as a membership oriented newsgroup and letter but I am not completely sold on the idea. I want everyone to be able to participate and to have fun at trading and investing. A membership fee may not be accepted by many and they would no longer be able to participate. But as you say, we could certainly keep tighter reigns on our community if we did this, and that alone has some merit. If I ever started such a private group, I would limit membership to 50, 100 or 250 so that the group would be manageable (and have a waiting list beyond that) and so that we all would have input but also would like to keep at least some public forum where all could participate to any degree that they desired. I think this presents the best opportunity for enhancing the benefits of a tightly focused and contributing group but also creating a following via the public forum. I really believe that membership needs to limited if something like this is ever done. I see too many of these services that seek to only suck a mo. fee from as many members as possible charging up to $200/month. For what??? The privilege to belong?? Got to keep it around $15 or $20 month, or whatever the threshold happens to be so that everyone has the opportunity to participate if they choose to. But, we will let this thread grow to where it will by natural progression only. If we evolve to something like that...great, if we don't ..... great. Let us see. Hey, the sky is the limit for us serious traders and investors that desire each other's input. The internet is a truly wonderful medium and I look at how it has changed my life in the last 8-10 years and can't imagine where we would be without it. Think about what we are doing here and what it would have taken before the Internet days. Good post Jim and Happy New Year to you and yours. TJ
