Do Nortel and Lucent actually manufacture a DLC or do they incorporate another company's in their systems? Also is Reltec considered a serious competitor? They won big Sprint contract so I assume they are serious.

Eric,

I see that the two options are either to upgrade copper and hope to garner more residential subscribers for internet service (US West approach) or buy a cable company (AT&T approach).

The cable companies will also need to upgrade the coaxial connections with some type of a switching network. One would assume that the complexity related to interactive set-top boxes will lead to added complexity in completing tasks related to the new internet business. So doesn't a company like AFCI prosper regardless of which option is chosen? Or do the AFCI products only interface well with the standard telephone lines?

Sorry for posting such open ended questions. It is just that this is not my area of expertise.

Eric,

A target price of around $20 seems reasonable if you compare the recent performance of peers in the industry such as Reltec.
