Banchee,

I am an occasional poster and more of a lurker, perusing this thread for ideas to do my own dd.. Some general thoughts for 1999.

1. Y2K, the issue might be used for "hot money trading" for a week or two in January but usually something so well known and publicized will go out with a whimper.. The unknown will get you..

2. From my futures trading, never sell a down market.. never buy
an up market..

3. Limit orders in , market orders out.. liquid stocks and futures
only. When I want out.. I want out... profits or losses...

4. General market conditions, high volatility etc, will continue
until all the "hot money" is burned up and liquidity dries up..
Nothing on the horizon to change, EXCEPT, that EVERYONE including
me thinks nothing will change and it WILL .. but I don't think Y2
will be the catalyst.. The market is so ingrained and pervasive in our societal thinking, like the late 1920's.. That SCARES me..

Happy New Year and good luck All.... and this is a great thread you started J..

the Coug..
