I don't dispute the fact that there is an advantage for the little guy but I don't believe it is information because the big guys get it first. They have a direct link to the publisher, we have to go to the library and check the stacks.

The advantage is in the ability to buy or sell 100 to 1000 shares more easily than it is 100,000 shares. The big guys play the game under slightly different rules than the rest of us. Many are guided by objectives as stated in their prospectus. I am sure many funds would like to participate in the tech boom but they simply can't. I think it is naive to think you or I has 'out smarted' the big guys. As for LTCM--those guys got bailed out, when was the last time someone came to the rescue when you found yourself lacking 5k to cover a short? Different rules, different game.
