There was a GRRRRREAT deal of wisdom in your post, Alan, and I, for one appreciate mightily that you took the time to express it so well.

I'm NOT enabling or wishing to protecting WJC man from his consequences.

I want him out of office,
out of his home,
his wife to leave him,
and his children,
howEVER many there are
to realize early the true nature of the man that is their father,
and hopeful earn EARLY in their young life from his mistakes.

Then, and only then,
might they be able to stop the pattern of abuse of trust, which is what all fornication or infidelity is all about.

It is too much to hope for that he will step down. But, a demonstrated pattern of unwise personal choices ALWAYS bleeds over into ones job performance,
one's community responsibility,
and in our particularly sad case,
national defense, or is it now, indefensibility?

Folks, as you so aptly quoted, keep euphemistically talking about
the "thing in his pants" as if it has some kind of detachable life
of it's own. (The only detachable one that I'm aware of is the Bobbit one lying in a field several months ago.)

Those "things" are always attached...
just like a murdering hand-gun is always attached...
to a person...
who is ultimately responsible for how that "thing" is used,
regardless of the number of bullets in the chamber.
And frankly,
the more "bullets in the chamber" be it an ammo clip or a set of testicles,
the greater the responsibility in my mind!!!

God help us all. That little boy in particular.

Consenting sex my foot!
Did William Jefferson Clinton ask Hillary's, Chelsea's or Danny's consent before engaging in "consentual sex?"

Alan >If I went up to a lone woman in a teachers' lounge in a school in Wisconsin and fondled her, even if it remained a he said/she said incident, the State of Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction would not renew my teaching license and I surely wouldn't be asked to sub anywhere again<

Taking this statement in isolation and at face value - do you think that zero tolerance is right? In any sense of the word? Means that an accuser can ruin any person without proof. In a civilised society that in itself is intolerable. In the above instance you would know you did it - but if you were innocent, how would you feel? E

But no, he gave himself over to his own folly, and the children over to the evil Republicans who joy in their starvation.,

Surely you jest, my friend.... surely you jest.

I don't think you'll find anyone who advocates that. The only true difference is whether we have public market failure, or private market failure.

I am for what works, and works most efficiently with the least cost.

As a teacher you should understand that throwing money at a problem doesn't solve it. All it does is permit unscrupulous people to capture the proceeds with the least amount of effort.

Ex: The last report I heard DC spends some $9,000 per child, yet reflects some of the least results in national test scores.

In the end it amounts to people caring about one another and not permitting some amorphous governmental or private institution to usurp your individual responsibility for the standards that your children meet.

Regards,

Ron
