TexasDude; Is this a private contest? The prize is a what - "a bottle of wine from somewhere other than Texas"? If I can enter, I'm going with a biotech bunch as the time for a segment shift to biotechs is long overdue. Besides about the only sector any longer that is NOT overvalued is, in my judgement the promising biotechs. My picks; SDIX: Very cheap, profitable testing company that is into the testing of transgenic crops. Will be important in Europe. GLGC: I agree with comments already made and since this is the stock that found me at this site, I had to go with it. Just coming off the pressure of the ONM merger which was a good fit for them. AXPH: Great management, lots of partners, lots of cash, lots of science - way undervalued for their potential. CCHM: One of these chemical combi outfits has to eventually come out with a real winner. Might be PCOP, but I'll go with the longer shot> MCDE: Why are so many insiders buying? RBO: If MCDE doesn't come out with a winner for the huge market because of antibiotic resistances, then maybe RBO can. CEGE: Gene therapy might not be ready for a big winner in 99, but they are sure getting closer all the time. My pick is CEGE. MYGN: I'm going with this one not because of their gene testing, but because of ProNet. All the genetic work is largely useless until it is put to use in how our genes guide proteins and how all proteins relate to each other. DIGE: Gene testing company that seems to expect to make it big. GENE: Seems to be in the right place at the right time - time will tell if management is up to getting this one to be a real winner. My strategy is to look for biotechs relying on more than just one or two blockbusters. These picks are ones I believe can become major players as the baby boomers mature and medicine becomes more and more important. I would like to add that there is some really great discussion here on the biotechs. Some of the best thinking and comments I have seen for a while. Good Luck. Steve
