Love them theoretically
or
Kill them mercifully

The prohibition is against using edged weapons to kill them.
As long as you kill them with a mace, it is OK.
If you have a lake of fire handy, or even a real good fireplace, it may be necessary to throw people in there once in awhile to affirm your love. It should be theoretically possible this way to kill most people for one reason or another, if you love them. As new forces emerge to act upon people and their lives, many more opportunities will arise for you to make sure that those around you are aware of your love as you slay them (remember to use a mace).

Mark,

1. you could punish someone and still love them

You said, YES!

2. sometimes unconditional love does not work and punishment is necessary, within our human experiences (keeping God out of the equation right now, OK??)

Don't have a clear answer on this one yet....help me out! Can you give me a straight, direct answer to it? I'll try to help you if you don't understand the question, and that is the problem.....

Can you get through your whole child's life, without ever punishing them, if you love them and want them to be a good person? Could you strictly raise your child based upon only unconditional love responses as a response to all of your childs offenses?
