<<s/i defends the rights of members ...>> I have no doubt you are right. However, don't expect SI, Yahoo, AOL or any other such service to protect your identity if somebody wants to sue you for libel. They must take the position legally that they are merely a passive conduit for postings, not a "publisher" like a newspaper or TV network. IF they were to try shielding your identity from those who allege that they have been damaged by your postings, they would have a hard time arguing in court that they themselves are not responsible for the allegedly offending material.

And by the way -- I wouldn't want them to shield the identities of scamsters and hypsters from the SEC. We are all responsible for what we post -- and should be HELD responsible -- even if we don't all use our real names.

Ron Reese and Tonto may remember this little 'situation' with a smile since they helped uncover the scam... does GIFS ring a bell??

Oh yeah.... :0)

But I give the predominant credit to Tonto for that outstanding work.

That was a lesson... the CEO was shorting his own stock through a Canadian account.

GIFS popped a lot investor's "cherries". I lost $2,000 on that one.

Regards,

Ron
