>>How will KP benefit if Aol acquires Amzn a year from now??<<
Jan, Look @ it as KP is the Patriarch of the family. Going a few years forward why have 2 of the family both trying to be the king of e-commerce?
There's another snag to my Aol/Amzn concept. That's Bert and Aol are also very close. If you remember Bert was one of Aol's largest shareholders. In fact one of the reasons that Berts ceo got the fast track was because he was the one that convinced the Bert board to invest $500mil in Aol. Now that was one hell of a good investment.
It was reported in BW that Kleiner had put Bezos and Bert together, but Bezos decided to go it alone
B&N/Bert has paid Aol a big chunk of money to replace Amzn as its exclusive book seller, but I don't understand why they use the term exclusive, when you can also get to Amzn thru Aol.
So now you have a very strong relationship with Bert/Aol. Then you have the Kleiner keiretsu.
This has the making of the best Perry Mason mystery ever written.

We know that Mr. B and his parents together control about 55% of Amzn's shares, and
KP holds less than 1/3 of their original shares now(they have less than 3 million shares
left.)

How will KP benefit if Aol acquires Amzn a year from now??

Jan,

You and thinking the same way. I believe Kleiner Perkins is exiting AMZN.

They still made a killing on the company.
