Precession of the Equinoxes
or
Is that like an Aeon ?

The Precession of the Equinoxes is an event which unfolds over a twenty five thousand year cycle and is mythologically related to the time period called an Aeon, or two thousand years.
The musical group Fifth Dimension wasn't lying when they said this was the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
The fixing of the vernal equinox in the constellation Ares, or the Ram is a historical reference point in space-time. Since that point the vernal equinox has precessed (moved backwards) through the zodiac (the twelve imaginary constellations made up of stars which lie in the path traversed by the Sun.)
The dawning of the Piscean Age loosely corresponds to the end of the Roman Empire.
We are in the Dawning of the age of Aquarius, but only if that imaginary belt of stars means anything, to anyone.

This is Astronomy, not Astrology

Sam,

I am struggling to see the value in your Bible bashing. The Bible was surely a amalgam of earlier religions and myths, but this does not diminish its value as a spiritual text.

And it also contains some original ideas. The concept of forgiveness, for example, first made its appearance as a spiritual tenet in the Bible. This is a monumentally profound idea that I have never found in any other spiritual text that predates the Bible.

What is your valuation of the concept of forgiveness? Have you seen it promulgated elsewhere?

Do you see any value in the Bible?
