Hi AndrewAs soon as the Chinese government fully realizes the money making potential of the Internet, I expect there will be an internet explosion in China. I think your understating things-- again, here--and elsewhere LOL That's ok I guess it's best probably best to be on the conservative when projecting etc. But how about WHEN the chinese government wakes up. As I have mentioned before on the tsig thread, it was a conference call that gave me the confidence in tsig that I still have and has in fact grown. Here it was the cc of a few days ago that really got my interest and special thanks to Jeffrey Henken for alerting us the cc and all of the dd he has given here. I picked up on the comment made re the singapore site right away. I sure wish we had more information about exactly what rdim has planned there. Also special thanks to wlcnyc for posting the url for china. That's a lot of reading and I plan on studying that tomorrow. I know very little about that part of the world, however I do have a friend from far east asia, his name is Steve too! I did glance at the article Jeff posted re singapore, again Thanks Jeff. Found some food for thought it that article. First, it looks like their internet usage fees are kind of high. I would go broke if I had to pay s$25 per mo plus s$2.95 per hour for each hour over 24 hours! I would use my 24 hours up by the third of each month. LOL These 125k users must be the elite. Second, Singapore has a population of 3m with 125,230 internet users. that's less than 5%. In order this site to recieve 16m hits in nov. That either means that every web user in singapore hit the site 120 times or the hits came from outside of singapore. I guess you must be right when you informed me that Mary Meeker's estimate of 150m users was a worldwide figure. In addition imo, while lots of folks are concentrating on slick willies current problems, I think he is deserverant of big kudo's for his trip to china last summer. China is the "sleeping giant" and imho will be an economic force to be reckon with as we enter the new millennium. Thirdly, notice the per capita gnp of US $21,070. I wonder what it is here in the USA. We probably should not put the cart before the horse though. Perhaps rdim should concentrate on getting the AHBC, PCN,PCS acquisitions done before working on singapore. Steve
