John, I find it difficult to imagine myself in a climate so cold. 6 degrees for us tonight and its almost too much for me. (G)

I bookmarked the site and looked around. I know that Paul never purposefully fasted to my knowledge although he went cold and hungry many times. Jesus was called a glutton and a winebibber because He believed that we should with hold nothing, as long as it did not cause our brothers to sin.
I have fasted for diet purposes for 2-3 days and I can see where it would clear your mind and body but not sure about the other. To me trusting God through difficult circumstances is a sure remedy for spiritual growth but again, I see no purpose for changing God's will or healing us or our nation through fasting.
We are told to walk by faith and not by sight because we know that God is working things out for our eternal good regardless of our circumstances.
If you can find any thing mentioned about fasting after the beginning of the age of grace from Acts 9 through Philemon I would be glad to know about it.

(Does everyone just stay at home when it gets that cold?)
