And while I am gabbing again. The "holding company" idea- though a VERY long term one - continues to intrigue me. Spacehab is one ( very different) company that makes use of its unique monopoly in various futuristic ways. One is to give cut rate space in the scientific modules to companies like Pfizer for zero grav experiments. If any drugs sprout from those experiments Spacehab gets a nice royalty participation. Ampex could easily provide its patent ( cost free at first) and perhaps some economic support and a free of charge web hosting service to a variety of promising entrepreneurs in return for an ownership stake in the fledgling companies under the umbrella of a web holding company.
