Hi Bill, Thanks for the review using your PCA spreadsheet. Makes it easy to answer such questions of whether AIM would have helped!!!

My worst performer for '98 was NERX, down (73%) while my best performer was JBL up +96% and VTSS running a close second at +91.6%.

Overall lots more minus signs that plusses showing while overall it was about break-even.

My IRA with Ultra fund stood out nicely with a 25.3% gain year over year. Not bad for a mid-large cap fund and AIM holding an average cash reserve of about 28% for the year. That account is now up 285% since starting in January of 1990. If I hadn't held about 50% Cash Reserve from 1991 to 1995, it would have done much better.

Best new fund for 1998 in my account was LMVTX. I started that account just a year ago and it returned (including the cash reserve) 37% in its first year.

Best regards, Tom
