Clinton,

Did not lie to the American people.

He said he did not have sexual relations with ML.
Sexual relations = sexual intercourse.

He did not commit perjury either. If he did it has not been proven.

What he did do was make statements which could if not understood be misleading to people who do not take the time to ask what definitions are being used. This is typical legal parsing and is acceptable in court.

You , although a lawyer, do not seem to get it.

So get over it!

Sigh. This is getting repetitive.

>>Okay, Rose Rose. Gain some credibility here. Post unequivocally your statement that you belive Clinton was WRONG to lie to the American people, as he clearly admitted he did, and that if he committed perjury he was WRONG to do so, and that if he did break the law he should be penalized for it.<<

I have posted that I do NOT support perjury, that I feel Clinton was wrong to lie and mislead the American people, and that I feel he should be punished if indeed he committed perjury. We went through this whole thing a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, if I go more than a few days without posting the obvious, the conservatives on this thread leap to the conclusion that because I avoid stating the obvious (i.e., that lying is wrong), this must mean I SUPPORT lying. Faulty logic, but it's what I've come to expect.

For the record, I think Clinton should be punished if he DID commit perjury, but I do not believe it will ever be PROVEN that he did. And even if it WERE proven, I do not think impeachment and removal is the proper punishment.

And for the record, I do not endorse lying and obstruction of justice. Which is one of the primary reasons I'll be there cheering and hooting when Starr gets his comeuppance.
