Apple's new Power Mac G3 series use HW decoder...

Apparently they use an ATI Rage 128 graphics card with a daughter card connector for DVD.

-------------

MPEG-2 decoding–necessary if you want to watch DVD movies on your Mac–is available as an optional daughtercard that plugs into the system's video card, and therefore doesn't require an additional slot. And, of course, the graphics card itself goes into that special fourth slot.
