Mike, why do you bother going to the computer stores hairpiece will let us know when the crash is coming. is he still around or did he reinjuneer himself. -g- Steve was right bigtime that the invasion of the Japanese boxmakers would be a flop but they did add to da xcess capacity. Mike

My experiences in the Best Buy computer department have been, without exception, complete failures. The staff don't know anything about the merchandise, and there are usually only one or two in the department at any time, anyway. I was planning on buying a laptop before I went on my last vacation, and stood around in the department for 15 minutes, just waiting for someone to answer one question about configuration. Finally, I gave up, and went to the front of the store, and there were a half dozen clerks standing around doing nothing. I asked one of them to help me, but they all worked in the music and video department.

I then went to Circuit City, where the clerk in the computer department was willing to help, but knew nothing. One of the other customers answered my questions, and the clerk offered him a job. I don't think he was kidding.

I feel sorry for people who are complete newbies. I really like the Gateway commercial about the puppy, that about sums it up.
