Brian, I keep hearing this mantra chanted over and over again. "AMD has smaller die sizes; therefore, they must be making more money." Ah, but if die size were the whole game, AMD would have won a long time ago.

<AMD's plan was based on the $100 chip to provide the funds neccessary for break even revenue and then offer some higher end products to produce the real profitability .>

It doesn't look like they'll even reach the $100 ASP this quarter. Hopefully AMD can make up for it in volume. If not, AMD might fall a few points as people get turned off from lack of a significant earnings "surprise."
