Thanks for admitting, even if in a contorted manner, that it was all a figment of your imagination.

Dipy and Dan,

Neither of you is gaining or giving an inch. Anyone think the Republicans, as a Party, will come out of this intact? I don't.

On Thursday the new Congress gets sworn in and Clinton is over the 1/2 point of this term. If he resigns, Gore could be Pres for 10 years.

Gore will get credit for convincing Clinton to resign, bringing decency back to the White House, will have 2 years experience as Pres, can blame the Republicans for any deadlocks that occur because of partisanship, won't have to go through the cutthroat primaries where the Republicans will try to make fools of each other, etc. Looks like a smart deal to let Clinton stay if you think, and I do, that Republicans are looking to 2000.
