Yo, just go back and take a look at those polls. The people never said that they were so outraged with Clinton that they insisted on his resignation. Their reaction was more along the lines of, "If I were in his place, I would give up, if the House votes to impeach". There was no rancor or anger towards Clinton, since the approval ratings remained as high as ever. People are not as fickle as you seem to think they are.
