OK, that's about enough. I'm getting a nosebleed. I want this buying hysteria stopped immediately. It's unhealthy and un-Nordic. And it will end in tears. Probably when the internet stocks finally collapse and take the tech sector with them.

Warning sign: Ericsson is rising just as fast as Nokia. Even though they will have a bad 4Q and Sweden remains out of EMU, exposing Swedish companies to sharp currency fluctuations if Brazil or China devalues. This looks like a stampede, not something that results from new insights.

Mardy, the new Q&A should be at both osaketieto.com and debry.com tomorrow. Read both!

The new European subscriber numbers are staggering. That's one genuine reason for euphoria, I admit. The big European operators are racking up 500 000 - 900 000 new subs per *month*, while major American operators seem to be adding around 400 000 subs per *quarter*. I think there may be several possible deals coming where European operators buy American companies. Possibly taking over the relatively skinny American GSM operators.

There are some claims that Nokia is topping 50% market share in some European markets just as the sales growth is accelerating during 4Q. It seems too high - we'll see in the spring when solid data comes out. Anyway, 120% phone sales growth for 4Q seems like a slam-dunk. 130% should be possible.

Major factor driving the huge growth in Europe: prepaid calling. It's another innovative GSM feature not widely adopted in other standards.
