If you visualize getting the same stuff, plus camera-agility, through the TV instead of having to run your PC and telephone line at the same time, "that's [ACTV] entertainment!"

And, in light of:

it looks like ACTV's interactive concepts just had a super-successful tryout in the real world.

DirecTV May Turn To PrimeStar To Solidify Dominance (GMH) - Report

(NewsTraders.com)-- Shares of General Motors Hughes (GMH) rocketed Tuesday after rumors surfaced that the satellite broadcaster's DirecTV unit is in talks to acquire No. 2 PrimeStar Inc., according to Variety.

Highlights:

- DirecTV would add 2.3 million subscribers if it were to purchase PrimeStar, which would assert its dominance as the nation's No. 1 satellite television provider with 6.6 million customers.

- Rumors of a deal were reinforced when Merrill Lynch analyst Tom Watts upgraded GMH to a "buy" rating Tuesday. He cited consolidation in the industry as one reason for his rosy outlook.

- Valuation for Primestar would likely be around $2 billion.

- Primestar is controlled by a handful of cable players, led by giants Time Warner (TWX) and Tele-Communications Inc. (TCOMA).

Comcast Forms Comcast Interactive Capital Group

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) today announced that it has formed Comcast Interactive Capital Group (CIC), a new independent unit that will function as a venture capital fund to seek out, acquire and manage investments associated with the Internet. Julian A. Brodsky, Vice Chairman of Comcast, will lead the new venture, which will be his principal activity, as Chairman of Comcast Interactive Capital Group.
