DIVIDENDS AND BOOKS CLOSURE DATE

The Directors are pleased to announce that an ordinary dividend (tax exempt in Singapore) of US$0.25 per ordinary share (FY 1998: nil) and a special dividend (tax exempt in Singapore) of US$0.25 per ordinary share (FY 1998: nil) for each ordinary share of par value S$0.25 has been declared for the current financial year ending 30 June 1999. The dividends will be paid on 2 February 1999. Based on the exchange rate as at 31 December 1998 of S$1.66 to US$1.00, and the par value of S$0.25 for each ordinary share, the dividend rate is 166% for the ordinary dividend and 166% for the special dividend.

Holders of shares in the securities accounts with The Central Depository (Pte) Limited ("CDP") Singapore will receive payment of the dividends in Singapore Dollars converted from US$ at the rate prevailing two market days before the dividends payment date. All other shareholders will receive payment in United States Dollars.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Shares Transfer Books and the Register of Members in Singapore will be closed from 19 January 1999 to 20 January 1999 (both dates inclusive) for the preparation of dividend vouchers. Duly completed registrable transfers received by the Company up to 5.00 p.m. on 18 January 1999 (at the respective Singapore and California times) will be registered to determine shareholders' entitlements to the dividends. In respect of shares in securities accounts with the CDP, the dividends will be paid by the Company to CDP which will in turn distribute the dividend entitlements to the holders of the securities accounts.

Why isn't above carried in any of the wire services here? Are Nasdaq shareholders second class citizen??? Is creative really can't be bother with Nasdaq???? or is it WS can't be bother with creaf????

Look at the dividend announcement, it sound like a solicitor demand note asking for payment, cold, without feeling, formal....The same announcemnet can be more "CREATIVE" and upbeat. You even need an accountant to explains some of those pharses!!! Creaf! why can't you just use plain English or divulge more details in your announcement??
