Greater Media Cable to Offer Road Runner Service; Cable Properties in Massachusetts form Regional Data Cluster with MediaOne and Time Warner

RESTON, VA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 5, 1999--ServiceCo, the
joint venture between Time Warner, MediaOne, Microsoft, Compaq and
Advance/Newhouse, - announced today it has signed an affiliation
contract with Greater Media Cable for the Road Runner service. Greater
Media will introduce Road Runner to about 218,000 homes passed
in its cable systems throughout central and western Massachusetts
starting this year.

Greater Media's cable division is a unit of Greater Media, Inc.,
the East Brunswick, N.J. multi-media company with holdings
nationwide. The cable division operates systems in Philadelphia, Penn.,
and in 28 Massachusetts communities, including Worcester, the second
largest city in New England. In Massachusetts, the company has 178,000
cable subscribers and is in the midst of a $70 million fiber
optic/digital upgrade of all its cable systems.

"A partnership between Greater Media and ServiceCo makes a lot of
sense for both parties" said Robert Rusak, vice president of Business
Development for Road Runner. "Many companies aspire to create
genuinely synergistic relationships," he added, "but few actually
achieve it. The deployment of Road Runner in these cable properties
works for Greater Media because we already have a data center that can
service the area, and it works for us because our service will be
carried by a top-notch cable operator." Greater Media's Massachusetts
service areas are surrounded by MediaOne properties, some of which
already are affiliates of ServiceCo."

"Road Runner's capabilities and proximity make them our partner
of choice," said Richard Carnall, Greater Media's director of Internet
services. "The Road Runner brand will achieve a tremendous market
presence across Massachusetts with Greater Media, MediaOne and Time
Warner," he added.

ServiceCo, the nation's leading online broadband service provider
has more than 160,000 customers within the 50 plus communities that
it serves within the U.S. A joint venture among affiliates of Time
Warner Inc., MediaOne Group Inc., Microsoft Corp., Compaq Corp., and
Advance/Newhouse, it combines the resources and strategic talent of
the five partners who are world leaders in media, broadband
communications, computer software and hardware, and publishing. The
Road Runner character is a trademark and copyright of Warner Bros., a
division of Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P.
