This is another example of someone pigeon-holing AAPL into being a one-product company. Apparently, they ignored Yosemite, don't care about the upcoming consumer portable, haven't heard of OS X, and thinks that the tangerine iMac will do even worse than I think it will! :-)

Agree with everything here but the tangerine iMac crack. <gg>

Wait until sales figures start coming out for the new iMac and the Yosemite. It's going to be interesting to see how consumers react to the new G3 in particular, I think.

I think I can feel the heat from Eric's brain working all the way out here in frigid Iowa!

Mark

Didn't somebody figure that an iMac was selling every 15 seconds?!-Was it S.J.??
I guess Oppenheimer wanted one sold every 12 seconds.
imacs all flavors, g3-gottahaveits for the pros, osx-qt4-sherlock-etc, a second to none web presence on its way and already here, renewed strengthening with other major players, consumer products in the future...Oh the list is so good. This company has too many plusses to warrant an "underperform"
forget Oppenheimer IMO

Yeah, I agree...
More than that, isn't it interesting that a company can come as close as that to hitting its "estimate" and it's considered a bad thing? It seems EVERYONE has to exceed their goals stupendously to be considered a "performer".
Seems to me that AAPL, having seen Death out the door, should get better consideration.......

<<700,000 iMacs estimated for Q1????? And they had a hold rating at the time? Are these people on some kind of controlled substance?

If they were expecting 570,000-700,000 iMacs, I would LOVE to know what their Q1 estimate was.>>

I think you might be a bit confused here. CIBC was saying that APPLE had hoped for 570,000 - 700,000 units to be shipped, but that the actual number turned out to be 522,000 - i.e. Apple didn'y really meet its own shipment goals.
