Les, I have said I agree with regards to healthcare, Hillarys statements regarding 25 year olds and healthcare were wrong. It costs $5000/yr for a 25 year old woman get healthcare out here, there is no excuse for that.... the individuals are clearly subsidizing the large groups and in addition there is a lot of sexual bias against women with the HMOs. So, at this point with all the flaws in the system its no wonder some groups opt out.

Unlike you though, I feel the current healthcare scenario is an example where the free mkt isnt really working, the large groups are bullying the smaller groups into paying more than their fair share.

As for the RR's demonizing of groups they consider threats to the family unit, the threats they should focus on are primarily those individuals or groups that pursue unstable family relationships, regardless of homo/heterosexual, since these tend to result in situations such as child support where the legal system has to intercede.

Well they can blame whoever they want for everything but the fact is if their real concern was "intervening legal support" or excessive reliance on government programs then they would never choose to demonize Murphy Brown for example. The RR just makes generalizations (based on some ideals in the bible I think) where certain examples of extended families are not ideal in their mind, and demonize them. I dare the RR to look into the finances and legal situation of any 30 year old professional woman that chooses to have a child or a gay couple that has a child. My guess is they will see they are making gross miscalculations with regards to these families reliance on social programs or the legal system - of course I dont think it has anything to do with that.
