Chris, >>>"Fast, reliable and inherently fault-tolerant, Fibre Channel
(deliberately spelled that way to distinguish the technology
from fiber optics)"<<<

Have to nitpick. Not exactly as he says. It was decided to spell it fibre so as to imply that the interconnect medium did not have to be fiber optics (copper can be used as well).

Now that I've dropped in here in annoying fashion, what about EMC at 89 1/2? Still a buy, or might there be a pullback in a week or two after the first wave of 401K and IRA money has washed down? I have been reading the posts on this thread and watching EMC for the last couple of weeks, so I'm not totally uninitiated in this stock.

Regards all,

Tony

Thanks Chris.

I think you've been there, but for the others who want to learn about the other "investables" in Fibre Channel like ANCR, QLGC and EMLX, may I suggest the "A Fibre Channel Future" board right here on SI. Extremely high signal to noise ratio. Reasonable frequency. Less than a 1000 posts and you're ready for the future of storage networking which begins with the letters E-M-C. Just follow the flow of data, folks, and not even the mean IBM salesman who terrorized this very same EMC board with his smooth jargon last year can scare you.<G>

Regards,

Gus

P.S. Just kidding, David.
