IFMX, COMS, AKLM

I got stopped out of IFMX today and, in revisiting the chart, I'm
glad I was. An additional comment I have is that I'm sure the
gap between yesterday's high of 11 3/8 and today's low of 12 1/8
will be filled before this one continues. My own opinion is
that I wouldn't go long until that gap is filled or it becomes
evident that it isn't going to be filled.

But then, I'm the one who got stopped out of COMS and jumped
right back in today. Maybe that one will turn out o.k.

Sue, thanks for the AKLM news item. I have been holding this
one for much, much longer than usual for my short term trading.
My target is 13 and I hope that happens soon.

Tom

>Please explain : A simplemoving average crossover of 3 and 7 days gives a much better reduction.

I graph 3 and 7 day MA but which has to cross over which?
3 crosses over 7 is a good sign? or vice versa?

Thanks for the help!

Consolidations and Breakouts

If I may add to this discussion. Based on some reading I have done, a ticker which has made a two month high with a broad range on the day that the high is made, followed by a period (at least 2-3 days, and maybe much longer) of consolidation inside the range on the day of the high having been made, is a good CANDIDATE for a breakout.

But the play cannot be made until the new high is made (and the low of the range of the previous high cannot be violated), and even then, with a risk of a "fakeout", a stop should be used.

Now of course, sometimes the stop can prove to be a fakeout, like when I went long on PMCS on Monday, was stopped out on Tuesday, and watched it go to the races today without me in the saddle.

I will be looking to paper trade this set up some more to see how it works out. I've got a lot of installation to do in the meantime.
