uncle,

I appreciate all that you have contributed! I enjoy your sense of humor and look forward to more of it.

As my Grandma used to say, "Be careful out there!"

Like I am one to speak. <gg>

>>now everyone knows that i'm an fng compared to most of you, and i appreciate your letting me learn from you. i've tried to pay my own way with dd and a few funnies. i really appreciate the many many helpful pm's i've received.
i grew up in sf. i learned young that research, reconnaissance, information and correct weaponry are everything. i do smell a kill here. i have been researching and reconning everywhere i can think

Although you do tend to the exuberant side, I have to say that I respect your instincts regarding Rambus and admit to having been influenced now and then on the buy side. This has resulted in some good long rides on the bus at times and getting dragged along behind it at others. But I can only blame myself for not reading the schedule and being on time.

Here is a selected review of Rambus being discussed by the luminaries on the AMD thread. MileHigh was able to draw out Scumbria on the Rambus issue and actually get him interested. MH said recently that Scumbria is very bearish towards Rambus, but I see more ambivalence and possibly a gap in knowledge. (Editor's note: an argument seems to be won when there is no further reply).

Hi Uncle,

you ask what the downside to RMBS is, if any. I agree with you, there is not a downside as long as everything follows plan.
However there is a RISK out there, a huge one.
My understanding is that right now Katmai / Ciminio is being evaluated by the box makers. It only needs one non-approval, (worst case redesign) to delay the program 6 months and burst the bubble. The approvals could be already accomplished, but I have not read any feedback to date.
I don't want to be negative, but beware there are still potential pitfalls in front of us, and with the current 380 trailing PE you can imagine how deep the pit is. (this at least will change dramatically with the new earnings announcements)
