To anybody attending the S/H meeting on 29 Jan 99:

Would any threader in attendance be willing to ask the following questions on our behalf?

1. What were the Company's dollar proceeds from the sale of Chromatics to ATI?

2. Why did both Cirrus and Chromatics abandon their efforts on graphics applications? Were the reasons commercial or technical, and did it (the problem) involve the RMBS interface?

3. What do the unexplained deferred revenues (in the liability section of the balance sheet) represent (only US$3.6mm is accounted for in the 10K notes)?

4. What is the rationale behind not having employment agreements for executives (I know the standard answer, I would just like to hear it from mgmt directly)? Are there secrecy / non-comps in place for ALL executives?

5. Is a Motorola license in the works (if they spill THOSE beans, then we have to ask about use of the interface in future Palm Pilots <ggg>).

Thanks in advance,

BP

blake,

I believe that Rambus in many cases receives royalties or fees in advance and these monies, which are earning stockholders interest all the while, are dropped into current quarter earnings at an unknown (by me) but flexibly adjusted (by management) rate according to certain milestones. At least that's how I remember the discussion went on this some time last year. You could review the thread for this or the info is probably in one of the older Rambus filings available on Edgar.

We're stuck in that 70-80 zone here in LA. No rain in the forecast and my wife is complaining about this! Sorry to here about your snow injury. Perhaps your inevitable large RMBS profits will finance frequent winter vacations to warmer climes.

Congratulations on your increased confidence and position.

I hope you feel much better real soon. ;-)

Barry

blake - I believe the deferred revenue liability is the huge cash hoard they have accumulated in contract money, that, according to that annual report, they are parceling out over periods like five years. Another example of prudent fiscal management in my view.

Regards - Get well soon - Bernard.
