Why are you so worried about the Republicans in 2000? You should be happy they're gonna lose big, that way the Dems take control, get well entrenched and won't be out until you're old enough to finally get some of that tax money back on that income you've been trying so hard to shelter with underwear deductions.......There, that make sense?

I think the strategy is for the Radical wing of the republicans to get all the moderate republicans dumped. That leaves only the christain coalition in the republican offices. With no clear third party they are still likely to have more influence than their apparent 25% public support would offer.
